Domainz surveyed 668 small and medium New Zealand businesses during May and June 2010 to find out how they use the web to do business.
We wanted to know:
- How innovative are small businesses online?
- What are their attitudes to social media?
- And is cloud computing just hype?
The answers to these questions and more are now in and the full results of the Domainz eBiz Review are now available for download.
Here are some of the top level findings:
- New Zealand small businesses that use social media as part of their online business strategy are more likely to achieve bigger revenue returns from their websites;
- 79% of SMBs surveyed agreed “the Internet is vital to the operation of my business”, and 44% said an increasing amount of their business’ revenues were derived online;
- SMB respondents said the two biggest challenges to doing business online were the cost of maintaining their website and being found in search engines;
- New Zealand small businesses reported the benefits of using social media was attracting new customers, and it helps put a ‘human face’ to their business.
